Description

NOTE: This notice was updated on 21 September 2022 for the following reason: Deadline for tender submission extended by one week, from 1500hrs 22nd September 2022 to 1500hrs 29th September 2022.(Location: Outer Skerry Minor Light, Yell Sound (Latitude 60°33.034 N, Longitude 001°18.311 W)

The proposed project is the upgrade and refurbishment of the AtoN and shall consist of the following works:

- 'HCL' fall arrest system re-certification;
- delivery of necessary plant/materials to site; removal of redundant electrical cubicles, batteries and cabling;
- installation of new pedestal and lantern; replacement of solar panels;
- installation of control cubicle;
- replacement of batteries with new Nickel Metal Hydride;
- installation of new solar regulator cubicle;
- de-mobilisation of site and clearing of all surplus materials and plant.

As part of the project works the Principal Contractor is required to organise an early 'Initial' pre-site start Asbestos Survey / Report within the NLB estate via and UKAS accredited asbestos company to identify and hopefully remove any asbestos containing materials before Contractor's personnel arrive on site.

During the proposed works, it is essential that the Aids to Navigation are not prevented from operating at any stage that they are required. Details will be provided on the basic operation of these items to allow the Contractor to prevent his operatives from affecting the Aids to Navigation.

A site visit is planned for 8th September 2022. All tenderers should confirm attendance including names and mobile numbers of representatives attending site by Monday 5th September 2022, via Delta.)
