Description

1555/319/SW/COM/16 Lightweighting Centre 5-axis Machine Tool

The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for the supply of a Lightweighting Centre 5-axis Machine Tool for use within the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre's Composite Machining Group at Catcliffe, Rotherham.

Scope of Requirement:

Supply, installation and commissioning of a 5-axis machining centre specifically configured for the machining of carbon / glass / aramid fibre reinforced polymer composite materials and lightweight alloys. The challenge of this project is that the machine is required for installation ideally by March 2017, so some consideration will be given for specifications that allow for this delivery to be completed more quickly, by looking to standard spec. or "off the shelf" configurations.
