Description

The LGA's resilience, safety and regulation team has developed a programme of support for councils around a range of issues, including tackling extremism, preventing people from being drawn into radicalisation, and developing cohesive and resilient communities.

As part of the LGA's work to provide political leadership support to councillors around these areas and in response to a request from a specific member authority, the LGA is developing a new bespoke virtual training programme to help support elected members in a local authority respond to local extremism and cohesion concerns.

We are seeking an external facilitator with appropriate experience to help develop the training programme and facilitate the training sessions. Subject to further discussions between the programme lead and appointed facilitator, it is expected that all sessions will be delivered via video-conference and that there will be a series of 3 sessions at around 2 hours each, delivered on different dates (dates to be confirmed, but this should be autumn 2020).

Working with the LGA programme lead, the contractor(s) will be expected to assist with the development of the programme, liaise with council nominees and any programme speakers as requested, facilitate each session, and providing inputs to the training as appropriate.

The contractor will be in regular contact with the programme lead by email and telephone throughout the programme planning.
