Description

HEE South East's Schools of Public Health, in partnership with Portsmouth City Council's (PCC) Public Health Team, seek to develop and implement an intervention to support people from ethnic minority groups who have higher risk of experiencing health inequalities to enter and/or progress within non-clinical, core public health careers in local authority public health teams. The core public health workforce includes staff engaged in public health activities who identify public health as being the primary part of their role . The intended outcomes of the project are to increase the diversity of the workforce and to improve individual social mobility.

The project will be delivered in two phases: 1. Research and development (9-12 months); and 2. Pilot implementation and evaluation across three intervention sites in South East England (24 months). It is expected that the two phases will be managed through separate contracts and, therefore, will follow separate award processes.

We are inviting suitability qualified and experienced organisations to respond to the market consultation exercise for phase one (Research and Development).

Phase one will run for a period of 9-12 months and has an available budget of up to £80,000.

This phase of the project will involve conducting primary and secondary research, including the use of participatory approaches; co-production of an evidence-based intervention to be piloted in phase two; and development of a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework focusing on process, outcomes and learning to inform policy, workforce development and public health.
