Description

The Council requires a consultant who will bring their knowledge, experience and innovative solutions to provide a specialist rail expertise and support service for Worcestershire County Council.

Key requirements of the commission are to provide Worcestershire County Council with specialist rail consultancy support to deliver improvements to rail services and infrastructure across the County. This is more fully described in the Worcestershire Rail Investment Strategy (WRIS ) which was endorsed and adopted by Cabinet on 2nd November 2017. The WRIS describes the extent of the Council's ambitions for rail and suggests the following projects will require support over the next 6 years:

o North Cotswold Line Task Force
o Expansion of services serving Worcestershire Parkway
o Expansion of Regional Services
o Worcester Area Capacity and Signalling
o Car Parking at Stations
o New/Upgraded Stations
o Shrub Hill Masterplan
o Ticketing and Fares
o Kidderminster station GRIP 5-8
o Advice to other rail related projects

The total value of the contract is expected to be in the range ?1 million to ?7.5 million over the maximum possible term of six years. There is no guaranteed minimum value of work that may be commissioned through the contract.
