Description

Birmingham City Council invites organisations to make an application to be considered for inclusion on a select list of tenderers for: External and internal refurbishment works.

The intention is for the works to be completed and invoiced in full before end of July 2017.

Brief Description of Works:

Refurbishment and conversion and adaptation of the ground and first floors to provide:
Ground floor:
o Refurbishment of the existing Play centre to provide a Dance studio and Fitness Class adjacent.
o Refurbishment of existing sports hall.
o Provision of a new link corridor for access from the main reception area to the Dance Studio.
o Inclusive of demolition of existing spiral staircase.
o Conversion and adaptation of Male Changing Room to provide Female Changing Room and Shower Room.
o Refurbishment of Reception Area and Toilets.
o Alterations to the existing Male and Female Changing Rooms to provide access to the new Disabled WC and Shower.
o Installation of a Passenger Lift.
o For disabled access to the 1st floor.
o New Disabled WC and Shower.
o Refurbishment of the Large Swimming Pool.
o Roof.
o Internal decorations to the ceiling.
1st Floor:
o Conversion and adaptation of Female Changing Room to provide Male Changing Room and Shower Room.
o Conversion and adaptation of Male and Female Toilets/Cleaner and Store Rooms to provide Male and Female Toilets.
o Conversion and adaptation of Studio to provide Consultant Room / Waiting Area and Store.
o Conversion and adaptation of Male and Female Toilets to provide Multi-Purpose Room.
o Alterations adjacent to the new lift to provide a lobby as access to the Multi-Purpose Room corridor to existing stairs.
o Alterations and Refurbishment works to the Gymnasium.
o The renewal of the suspended ceiling.
o New Gymnasium equipment to be installed.
o Alterations to existing Store to form Corridor.
External Works:
o Redecorate windows to the left of the main reception entrance to the ground and first floors.
o Redecorate 2No rendered barrelled areas adjacent to the main entrance.
o Construct link corridor from existing reception to the new dance studio.

The Council will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration and evaluation of this tender process, which along with the project scope and specification may also include requirements to provide the following for consideration:-

o Company Profile - Turnover, Organograms, Client Relationships, Sales Pipeline, Professional Body Registration / Memberships
o Trade and Bank references (where appropriate).
o Evidence of acceptable H&S and Quality Management Systems & Practices
o Evidence of insurances to support required levels of indemnity & liability
o Evidence of recent project history working on similar projects in similar environments with supporting case studies and method statement...
