Description

1.1 The Department has recently identified a new requirement to use detection dogs to screen people for the presence of materials of interest.
1.2 The aim of this procurement is to develop a canine people screening capability for detecting trained target materials, primarily in airport central search environments.
1.3 This involves provision of 5 to 8 suitable dogs until approx. end Feb. 2016 and suitable training for them. The appointed supplier will be responsible for re-deploying the dogs / finding them suitable homes after February 2016.
1.4 Canines should be trained to screen both static and moving people and should not make physical contact with them.
1.5 Canines should be trained to screen or scan all areas of a person, but of particular interest is validating the ability of canines to detect target hides located on the upper body of "suspect" people.
1.6 Results of this project will be used to inform protocols for the certification, quality assurance and operational deployment of a people screening capability in an aviation environment.

The Invitation to Tender will be issued by close of play on 17th September 2015 and therefore suppliers can register on the e-Sourcing Suite between the issue date of this Contracts Finder advert and the deadline date.

The deadline date for submission of proposals will be Monday 28th September 2015 at 10:00am
