Description

The Telescopic Handlers Course should ensure, that all clients on the Black Country Impact programme, who undertake this course, are equipped with the theoretical and practical knowledge to safely and competently carry out their roles within the construction industry, whilst using a telescopic FLT Truck.
This course should involve the practical, theory and training, and will help candidates to fully understand the requirements of a telescopic handler's role, and to utilise this knowledge once employed.
The course will include, but is not limited to the content below:
o Operate the machine for all normal tasks
o Decide whether a load is safe to lift
o Carry out routine servicing procedures and maintenance as necessary, in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
o Know how the machine works and the maintenance requirements involved
o The purpose and capabilities of the machine and any relevant safety precautions necessary for its operation
o Understand the effect of load, size, weight, gradients and ground conditions upon machine stability
o Know how to load, store and transport representative materials
o Understand the basic construction of pallets
o Health and Safety etc.

Service Provider must:
o include the price of transport and lunched within the quote;
o deliver from a location in the Black Country that is accessible by public transport, outlining the planned delivery locations and venues to be used during the course;
o Demonstrate expertise and experience of working with and delivering courses to eligible 15-29 year olds who are not in employment, education or training (NEET) across the Black Country.
