Description

Lewisham Council is seeking to commission a supplier/consultant to conduct a Strategic Review of Governance in the London Borough of Lewisham

The scope of this project will cover 5 areas:

- The current environment for governance in Lewisham;
- The challenges for governing boards in Lewisham;
- When governance is weak what is required to improve it;
- Skills and knowledge and recruitment gaps on governing boards;
- Roles, responsibilities and lines of accountability for the Local Authority, -
- Lewisham Learning and the Lewisham Governors' Association

The aim of the review is to strengthen the governance of schools in Lewisham by identifying:

(a) Thematic needs of governing boards
(b) Resources which are currently available
(c) Gaps in provision
(d) Role of the LA
(e) Role of Lewisham Governors Association
(f) Role of Lewisham Learning
(e) Recommendations to improve and strengthen governance

This contract will be delivered over 6 months. There will be an option to extend for a further 2 months at the Council's discretion if additional work is required.
