MHCLG is responsible for Government policy relating to housing, planning and building, local growth, local government, integration and community cohesion. Its job is to create great places to live and work right across the country. It is a ministerial department, supported by 13 agencies and public bodies.
The Parking (Code of Practice) Act 2019 (PCOPA) became law in March 2019. This is a contract to develop an assessment regime for applicants to gain accreditation in order to certify private parking operators against the requirements of the new Code of Practice. Accreditation will provide confidence to MHCLG, trade associations and the general public that private car parking organisation are operating to the required standards.
