Description
ITEP0546 - Business Critical Software for Traffic Officers
Provision of digital for submission software
National Highways has made a commitment in its Strategic Business Plan to develop better ways of working to drive efficiencies and build business capability. To help deliver this, mobile technology was identified as being essential to transforming the traffic officers' role, introducing more efficient working practices and creating more time for traffic officers to be visible on the network rather than being in the outstation.
Traffic officers are provided with android tablets and require access to software which enables them to submit digital forms with photo attachments and GPS tagging. With the information gathered (including mandatory reporting of strategic road network incidents and health & safety issues) fed back to operational teams and external contractors to maintain a safe and reliable network for customers.
