Description
Public Health England (PHE) requires the provision of a bespoke Grinder Extract System for the laboratory at Centre for Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards, Chilton.
The bespoke Grinder Extract System must include a Cabinet and an Extraction System.
All of the below requirements must be fulfilled:
Cabinet Design:
- Large enough to cover a Retsch DM400 sample grinder on a trolley - approximate dimensions are 1400 x 730 x 1245 mm (H, W, D).
- Must be airtight and create a seal around the floor.
- Have an extract system inside to target dust generation points.
- Have a split door on the front to allow for grinder installation and cleaning. Have a sample access door on the top.
Extraction system:
- Must use a BOFA Dust Pro 400 or better and include a dust collection bag and HEPA filter system (High efficiency filters (99.997% @ 0.3 microns)
- Must achieve a face velocity of > 0.5 m/s when the sample loading chute is open and if possible when the cleaning door is open.
- Have easily replaceable spare parts (dust collection bag and filter system).
- Noise level must be below 65 dBA when operating.
All qualified suppliers must visit the laboratory to be able to design a cabinet with the extraction system to our requirements.
