Description

We require a closed-cycle (i.e. 'dry') He cryostat that controls the sample temperature between ~4-350K with optical access for free-space coupling of laser beams/emission and with applied magnetic fields from 0T to >0.7T. The cryostat will be used in the Lord Porter Laser Facility for a variety of different spectroscopic measurements.

The main samples will be thin films or monolayers of organic semiconductor or photoactive proteins, either coupled to confined optical fields (e.g. surface plasmons or within a microcavity) or on a silica substrate. Typical samples sizes will be roughly 1cm diameter/square.
