Description

Public Health would like to commission a weekly Community Caf? service targeted towards men over the ages of 50, who are at risk of becoming socially isolated or lonely or who maybe experiencing social isolation or loneliness.
The aim of the caf? will be to support friendship through weekly cafe meetings, workshops and trips. Weekly caf?s will offer a chance for men to meet regularly, enjoy free refreshments and part-take in group activities. Workshops will provide supportive environments for men to enjoy practical activities, share skills and obtain practical advice on areas including cooking on a budget or gas and electric energy-saving tips. Trips will take place to help participants explore new environments of interest and engage with local amenities helping them to grow in confidence and feel engaged in the area in which they live and foster new relationships.

As part of Birmingham's efforts to reduce reliance on health and social care services, to reduce social isolation and loneliness and to enable Birmingham's growing older population to lead healthier lives.
