Description

Runnymede Borough Council are inviting Tenders from suitably experienced contractors to design, supply and install a new play space plus associated landscaping, at Fernlands Open Space, Chertsey South, KT16 9FH.

The open space at Fernlands Open Space is very small and is surrounded by residential properties, including a new housing development. The site presents some real challenges in terms of the site size and the proximity of neighbouring houses including overlooking windows and gardens. The designer is expected to visit the site to fully appreciate the constraints associated with this location.

Within the residential area of Chertsey South there are no other designated play spaces available for public use. The closest equipped play spaces are located at Victory Park in Addlestone, KT15 2AZ, (approximately 2 miles distant), and Chertsey Recreation Ground, Chertsey, KT16 9BW, (approximately 1 mile distant).

The Tenderer is required to investigate all matters relating to the preparation of the Tender in order to ensure that it takes into account all circumstances likely to arise and that their tender is fully comprehensive and inclusive. No claims for additional payments resulting from the Contract shall be allowed insofar as they arise from the failure of the Tenderer to carry out all necessary investigations in the preparation of the tender.

The Council will work with the successful Tenderer to make any necessary adjustments to their design based on the results of the evaluation process including feedback from the subsequent public consultation.
