Description
EKFB is seeking to appoint a subcontractor for the supply of labour and equipment for the construction of Robust Kerbs via slipform methods within a precast cut and cover tunnel environment. The Robust Kerbs consist in densely reinforced concrete walls that run along the tunnels at both sides of the tracks, and will be heavily reinforced by a steel cage which will be supplied and installed by others. The sub-contractor will be required to construct the Robust Kerbs and to supply the corresponding resources to do so, including labour, plant and equipment and some materials (such as ducts and pipes). It is important to mention that the reinforcement will be supplied and installed by others and that the concrete will be supplied by EKFB from on- site batching plants, but it will be transported to the subcontract works location by the sub-contractor.
There are 3 No twin-bore Tunnels, each one accommodating 4 No of the Robust Kerbs.
The total overall length of the tunnels is 6km, hence there are 24km of Robust Kerbs to slipform. The height of the Robust Kerbs is 1535mm.
