Description

Birmingham City Council (the City Council) is proposing to procure the appointment of Development / Investment Partner(s) for the opportunity area known as The Ladywood Estate. The Ladywood Estate (the Estate) is located in the City Centre close to the major commercial and business tourist areas of Westside and the City Centre Core; and adjacent to the Great Icknield housing growth area and the historic Jewellery Quarter. The Estate is predominately a 1960s residential neighbourhood with approximately 1 000 units, two-thirds of which are in the City Council ownership. The overarching vision for the Estate is to bring forward a comprehensive housing led regeneration creating a family focused neighbourhood delivering the next generation in city centre living set within a high quality environment, connected by a well-designed network of streets and public spaces and supported by local amenities and facilities. The regeneration of the Estate, as an exemplar sustainable development, will need to achieve significant benefits for the local community and the wider Birmingham economy. The approach to the regeneration of the Estate will need to respond to the 2 distinct areas: Ladywood Broad Street c. 1,55 hectares and Ladywood Central c. 60,55 hectares each with their own characteristics and requiring a bespoke solution. The City Council will be seeking to procure a Development/Investment Partner(s)for each area with the expertise and track record in large scale housing led regeneration to work closely with the City Council and the local community to deliver a place making driven approach to the comprehensive, inclusive eand sustainable regeneration of the Estate. The procurement will be tendered by 2 lots i.e.

- Lot 1: Ladywood Central
- Lot 2: Ladywood Broad Street

Bidders will be able to submit proposals for 1 or both lots

The contract for Ladywood Broad Street will be for a duration of 20 years with the option to extend for a further 5 years.
The contract for Ladywood Central will be for a duration of 10 years with the option to extend for a further 5 years.
