Description

Sheffield City Council are seeking to appoint an experienced Mountain Bike Trial (MTB) Design & Build Contractor, to design and construct a cycle facility enhancing the existing 'blue -graded cross-country route with red opt-ins' at the Parkwood Springs site in Sheffield. This scheme forms part of a wider ongoing project for the site to create an active country park. The Trails Consist of New; Green (Easy), Blue (Moderate) and Red (Difficult) Trails alongside a Learn to Ride Area. The rationale, outputs and aspirations have evolved, developed, and been shaped via the in-depth consultation run as part of the Parkwood Springs Masterplan. This involved working with the local community, stakeholders, partners and wider Sheffield public to shape a vision for the site. Parkwood Springs is an amazing natural 'wild' space close to Sheffield City Centre. There is woodland and heath, open parkland and a range of natural habitats. There are spectacular views over the city centre, the suburbs and the distant moors of the Peak District.
