Description
MOPAC is seeking a supplier to provide a restorative justice (RJ) service for the Youth 2 Adult (Y2A) Hub, a government-funded pilot seeking to reduce reoffending amongst young adults on probation in Newham.
The RJ service will include assessing young adults' and victims' suitability for RJ, delivering RJ interventions and supporting other hub practitioners to take restorative approaches in their work. RJ interventions delivered by the Supplier should at a minimum include:
- Conferences between young adults and victims;
- Conferences or mediation between young adults and family members;
- 'Shuttle' RJ approaches (communication via letters or videos).
The Supplier may also be required to provide other types of RJ interventions, such as conferences between young adults and members of the community who have been affected by their crime or mediation between young adults and professionals.
The overarching aim of the Service is to increase young adults' access to restorative justice interventions and approaches by delivering interventions and embedding restorative justice approaches across the hub. By increasing young adults' access to restorative justice, the Service aims to support young adults to repair the harm of their crime, encourage them to take responsibility for their actions, to build empathy and support the maturation process.
Bids and clarification questions should be submitted to tender@mopac.london.gov.uk
