Description

NHS England Cheshire & Merseyside is the accountable and contracting authority for the provision of local GP practice services in Cheshire and Merseyside.

NHS England Cheshire & Merseyside is proposing to commission an Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) contract which is currently delivered from North Park Health Centre, 290 Knowsley Road, Bootle, Liverpool L20 5DQ. It will be a requirement that the services are offered from the current premises. As at October 2015, the list size of the practice is 6,179.

The aim of the services is to deliver essential, additional and enhanced services to registered patients of this GP practice.

It is proposed that the terms and conditions of service, including tariff arrangements, will reflect those contained in General Medical Services (GMS) contracts.

Social Value - Under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 the contracting authorities must consider:

(i) How what is proposed to be procured might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the relevant area ("area" is the geographic area for which the procurement is taking place); and
(ii) How, in conducting the process of procurement, it might act with a view to securing the improvement.

North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) is a commissioning support service hosted by NHS England. It is managing this process for and on behalf NHS England (Cheshire & Merseyside) (the contracting authority).
