Description

The proposed works will comprise of civil maintenance repair works and the application of decorative / protective coatings to external and internal elevations of the lighthouse tower, and surrounding buildings.

More specifically, the main items of work are as follows:

•Erect site camp and establish welfare facilities.
•Set up site.
•Carry out roof repairs to the welfare and battery room block.
•Replace the kitchen units, sink, etc.
•Replace the toilet and sink.
•Refurbish external timber doors and replace if required.
•Carry out internal plaster repairs as required.
•Prepare and redecorate the tower and surrounding buildings externally.
•Prepare and redecorate the tower and surrounding buildings internally.
•Dismantle site camp and welfare facilities.
•Prepare loads for site clearance by ship and helicopter and clear site.

Site visits will be conducted on Wednesday 26 April 2017 for this project. Please contact Ruth Millan, Procurement Administrator: 0131 473 3104 or by email Procurement@nlb.org.uk to confirm attendance and names of representatives attending site.

Site will be accessed via helicopter and all contractors attending the visit must have passed their HUET with CA-EBS. Please forward a copy of the certification for named contractor attending the site visit. Otherwise you will not be permitted to attend the site visit. NLB will provide a heli-suit but no other PPE for the visit. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing. Departure point to be agreed but it may be at Benbecula airport (time to be confirmed). Each contractor can only send one representative due to limited space in the helicopter.
