Description

UK Sport's Athlete Medical Scheme (AMS) is a medical insurance scheme which covers the costs of healthcare of funded athletes who are members of Olympic and Paralympic sports World Class Programmes. National Governing Bodies, funded or unfunded, may also purchase places on AMS at an agreed cost by UK Sport, to provide medical cover to athletes not on a World Class Programme.
UK Sport pays an annual premium to cover the costs of claims and, subject to approval and conditions of cover by AMS, the athlete receives healthcare. It is a free service to athletes and no costs are recharged to their governing bodies.
The existing policy comes to an end on 31 March 2019.
The cover will run for 3 years from 1 April 2019 (i) with the option to extend for an additional 12 months and (ii) with the option, at UK Sport's discretion, to terminate at the end of each year during the term.
UK Sport requires submission of proposals to become a commercial sponsor of UK Sport to complement AMS.
Tenderers can access the invitation to tender (ITT) documentation on UK Sport's website: http://www.uksport.gov.uk/resources/tenders. Tenderers are required to return the signed confidentiality agreement and other information to UK Sport at the following email address: amstender@uksport.gov.uk by 29 November 2018. Tenders must be submitted by 25.01.2019 at 12:00 and in accordance with the ITT instructions.
Please note that this tender is not for the appointment of an insurance broker.
All requests for clarification must be submitted in writing to the email address and marked for the attention of the Contact Officer set out at I.1 above. Please see the ITT for clarification deadlines and further information.
UK Sport shall not be responsible for any costs, charges or expenses incurred by candidates or tenderers and accepts no liability for any costs, charges or expenses, irrespective of the outcome of the competition, or if the competition is cancelled or postponed.
All dates and time periods specified in this notice and the ITT are provisional and UK Sport reserves the right to change these.
UK Sport reserves the right to abandon the procurement process and/or not award any or part of this contract.
Please see the ITT for further information on this procurement process.
