Description

Portsmouth City Council ('the council') is inviting tenders from suitably qualified contractors to deliver dredging works and pile removal to Portsmouth International Port (PiP).

PiP requires dredging to its Fountain Lake Jetty to deepen the area and the removal of 5 piles from the area. Fountain Lake Jetty (FLJ) is primarily used for the navy vessels, and it is anticipated that by deepening the seabed around this area, PIP can increase the range of cruise vessels that can utilise PiP berths.

This contract will require the removal of approximately 11,000 cubic metres of silt to various depths up to 9m below Chart Datum.

The Contractor will be required to comply with the conditions of the MMO Licence for dredging/disposal of this material.

The Authority is targeting to have awarded the contract by 17th December 2021 with a subsequent commencement date of mid-January 2022.

The estimated value of the contract is ?2.5-3m.

This procurement timetable is detailed below and, while the council does not intend to depart from it, it reserves the right to do so at any time.
