Description

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD) will be procuring the Healthwatch contract during 2021/22. Local authorities are required under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, to commission a local Healthwatch service.

Healthwatch acts as a consumer champion for users of health and social care services. The purpose is to make sure that people know where to go to raise concerns and obtain information about health and social care services, that people's views and experiences are heard, improving scrutiny of health and social care services and helping local people to influence commissioning decisions.

The Council invites suitably qualified service providers to attend a virtual market engagement event where it will present the vision for the new Healthwatch and to have a discussion with current and potential providers of this service. The event will be held between 11:30am and 4:00pm on Wednesday 10thNovember 2021 virtually via MS Teams.

This event will offer an opportunity to inform providers of the Council's vision for services, its competitive tendering process and timetable for procurement. There will also be opportunity for providers to seek clarity on the model, ask questions and make comments where appropriate.

Key topics for the day will be;

- An introduction to London Borough Barking & Dagenham
- The demographics of London Borough of Barking & Dagenham.
- Current service provision
- The new model
- The 'ask' from providers and indicative budget
- Procurement Process
- Discussion & Questions

This exercise is not part of any pre-qualification or selection process. It is intended as an awareness, communication and information-gathering exercise offering an opportunity for potential providers to help understand commissioning intentions and offer opportunities for potential future providers to network, forge partnerships and start thinking about an integrated service delivery model.

The Council is not liable for any costs, fees or expenses incurred by any party participating in this exercise. Any procurement of any services, supplies or works by the Council in due course will be carried out strictly in accordance with the provisions in the Procurement Regulations

Organisations interested in attending the event should confirm their attendance by emailing Edna.amolo@lbbd.gov.uk latest by 10:00am Tuesday 09th November 2021. Please include the job titles/roles of attendees and their contact details, to ensure the sessions are planned effectively and enable us to make contact with attendees should there be any unforeseen circumstances.
