Description

Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration is restoring and repurposing the New River Head industrial heritage site as the national centre for illustration, including a home for Quentin Blake's archive. We have recently been awarded a Development Grant by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (also known as the Heritage Fund or NLHF). This will fund a programme of work to develop our understanding of costs, resources, timeline and audience needs, enabling us to develop our application to apply for a full grant of £2.5million towards the project.

We are looking for a brilliant designer to create a permanent gallery showing work from Quentin Blake's archive and to design showcases and furniture for our temporary exhibition galleries.

Quentin Blake Centre champions art that is dynamic and diverse; we want our team to reflect that. In recognition of underrepresentation in our staff team, we will be offering guaranteed interviews to Deaf and disabled applicants and applicants of African, Caribbean, Central Asian, East Asian, South Asian, South East Asian and West Asian heritage whose applications demonstrate that they meet the shortlisting criteria listed in the Gallery Designer Brief.

Please download the Job Brief from our website for more details on the role, what we are looking for and how to apply: https://www.qbcentre.org.uk/gallery-designer

If you have any queries, please email us jobs@qbcentre.org.uk.

We are registered as a Disability Confident employer. Please let us know if you have any access requirements that need to be met to support you to make an application or participate in the interview process jobs@qbcentre.org.uk.
