Description

The core tasks identified within this tender are:  When required, the medical assessment of applications for ill health early retirement under the rules of the Defined Benefit (DB) Structure of the CNPP o To do so you will need to obtain and assess the clinical evidence against the CNPP and HMRC criteria on balance of probabilities, and, where necessary, carry out an examination of the applicant. The default expectation is that this would be an in-person examination, near any of the locations stated in the tender as required, unless it is a rudimentary case where a remote assessment is considered sufficient to be able to provide advice. o You will need to liaise with the relevant employer to consider the ability of the member to continue with their normal duties of employment with consideration of appropriate modifications that could be made to their duties to enable them to return to work. o In providing your assessment you will take instructions from, and liaise, with the Secretariat and Plan administrators. o You will be expected to provide a written report, based on a template form , which justifies and explains the basis of your assessment and advice against the relevant ill health criteria to the Trustee on all cases, and deal with cases referred on a timely basis.  Identifying relevant statutory/regulatory/market practice developments and the provision of Plan specific information and advice to the Trustee and/or Secretariat in relation to the developments.
