Description
Development of a Return and Support to Practice Programme for AHPs
HEE is seeking to commission up to 2 suppliers, each to deliver an innovative and flexible RtP Programme to support returners to meet the minimum requirements of the HCPC RtP standards.
The Programme(s) are aimed at RtP applicants who can demonstrate that they satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
• All former HCPC registrants who live in England and plan to return to work in England once returned to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) register.
• Those who have been previously registered with the HCPC or qualified after undertaking a UK HCPC accredited programme but did not initially register with the HCPC within the first five years of qualification.
• Registrants who remained on the HCPC register for more than two years but have not practised and consider themselves to be 'out of practice'.
• Overseas qualified clinicians eligible for HCPC registration residing in England including those with refugee status and 'right to reside'. If trained overseas and never formally registered with the HCPC. Formal registration via the International Registration route is required. please follow the link to the HCPC website and follow the International registration process. HCPC registration or a required period of adaptation is required before being supported by the programme.
The Programme(s) are not open to:
• Returners looking to work outside England when they have returned to the register.
• Returners that have any fitness/condition to practice issues cited against them by the HCPC.
• Biomedical Scientists looking to undertake a period of updating to meet their Certificate of Competency. The programme is unable to support training posts.
The Programme(s) will be high quality, nationally accessible programmes (characterised by the key requirements set out in 1.4), aligned to HEE's pillars of education, leadership, research, and clinical practice and delivered in a way that offers flexibility in approach and pace to the returner:
A minimum of 2 virtually delivered modules (minimum 20 credits) or equivalent of formal learning at level 6.
A range of targeted interventions/support packages specifically designed to motivate, support, and build the confidence of the returner as they return to practice and proactively encourage them to develop their own lifelong learning.
Innovative use of different learning methods and techniques including simulated 'clinical' experience via virtual/remote learning environments or equivalent to optimise the learning experience.
Tailoring of course content and length to an individual's previous experience and qualifications.
Multiprofessional learning where appropriate.
