                "description": "This project will comprise building fabric and structural remedial works to the operational\r\nNAS Building. The concrete framed building was constructed circa 1977 and houses \r\noffices, welfare, etc. The building is rectilinear on plan measuring circa 73 m x 98 m and \r\nis of two-storeys in height typically, with flat roofs covering the whole footprint.\r\n\r\nThis project's objective is to undertake:\r\n- Removal and renewal (i.e. complete replacement) of an existing flat roof system \r\n(coverings, membranes, and insulation) from structural slab level, including to \r\nroof level plant room, and completion of all other associated permanent and \r\ntemporary works.\r\n- The refurbishment of plant room façade and structure where necessary and \r\ncompletion of all other associated permanent and temporary works.\r\n- The installation of PV to principal roof areas and completion of upgrades to \r\nexisting electrical infrastructure to allow connection of PV array.\r\n- The repair of existing concrete slab where spalling is occurring and where \r\nadditional defects are found following stripping of existing covering.\r\nBy way of summary, the scope of work will include (but is not limited to):\r\n- Surveys to facilitate the design phase.\r\n- The development of existing RIBA 2 concept design and PV study to provide \r\ncomplete a RIBA 3 Spatially Coordinated Design (incl. obtaining Planning \r\nPermission for proposals as necessary).\r\n- Development of RIBA 3 design to provide complete RIBA 4 Technical Design for \r\nall works.\r\n- Undertaking Stages RIBA 5 and RIBA 6 (Construction and Handover) for all \r\nworks.\r\n- Performing the responsibilities and duties of Designer and Contractor under CDM \r\nRegulations.",
