Description
*EVENT INVITATION*
You are invited to the Mayoral & HS2 Supply Chain Summit for SME's
A virtual conference held on: Wednesday, 14 October 2020, 11:45 - 13:30hrs
Background
HS2 is the largest infrastructure project in Europe, and building the new railway provides unprecedented opportunities to thousands of businesses across West Midlands for more than a decade.
Following the decision to proceed with HS2 earlier this year, HS2 Ltd issued 'Notice to proceed' to the companies that will undertake construction of the railway on 15th April 2020, with construction now officially underway.
A large proportion of the £100bn budget will make its way down the supply chain providing transformational opportunities for businesses for more than a decade. These opportunities will stretch far beyond the traditional rail industry and offers a real opportunity for companies looking to diversify as part of post-Covid-19 recovery. WMCA are committed to maximising the number of West Midlands businesses that benefit from this investment.
Event
Join this virtual webinar as we hear directly from those involved in the project about what this means for local SME's and the upcoming supply chain opportunities across the region.
Hear directly from:
• Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands & Mark Thurston, CEO of HS2 Ltd - Strategic overview of HS2 and the importance of the project to the region's post-Covid-19 recovery plans.
• Companies directly engaged with the HS2 supply chain - Forthcoming opportunities and how businesses can become part of the supply chain.
• HS2 Supply Chain & Growth Hubs - Summary of procurement opportunities, what businesses need to do and available support to meet HS2's procurement criteria.
