Description

The ETF is seeking a tenderer to conduct an independent evaluation of the New to English Speakers of Other Languages (New to ESOL) programme for teachers/trainers in the FE sector. The aim of this programme is to evaluate professional learning and development including training and resources designed to support practitioners (teachers, classroom assistants, volunteers and others) working with ESOL learners (often referred to as being at 'pre-Entry' level), who we refer to as New to ESOL learners.
The overall aim of this project is to carry out an independent short and medium-term evaluation of the delivery of the New to ESOL programme between December 2020 and March 2021. This will involve activities developed this year with practitioners taking part in the programme for the first time. It will also include consideration of activities and resources developed in the previous two years, identifying those practitioners who attended PLD sessions last year who are involved in follow up sessions this year. The programme started delivery remotely in October 2020.
