Description

Members of Nottinghamshire Police & Crime Commissioners Office and Nottinghamshire and City of Nottingham Fire Authority are working toward a new joint headquarters at Sherwood Lodge in Arnold, set to bring operational efficiencies, interoperability and financial savings to both organisations.

The move is part of a drive by emergency service organisations nationally to work more closely together and create efficiencies to put back into frontline response and improving the service to the public.
The main element of the project is new build but does include a small element of refurbishment existing buildings. Among the new facilities will be a police control room, a joint multi-agency incident command room, a new training facility relocating the Police training centre, joint office accommodation, shared meeting and conference facilities, welfare resources, a canteen and a gym. The number of additional resources based at Sherwood lodge will require additional car parking and road infrastructure (within the site boundary). Increase in parking provision from around 500 spaces to 940 car parking spaces forms part of the overall site development.
Current activity includes:

o Completion of the final surveys required across the site
o Development of the planning application
o Continued Stakeholder engagement (internally and externally)
o Development of business continuity planning
o Procurement of contractors supported by EMSCU and Nottinghamshire Fire Procurement.
o Key enablers (e.g. IS and facilities ) planning for a future proof modern environment

The project is on target for completion in the Autumn of 2021.
It is the intention for the Members of Nottinghamshire Police & Crime Commissioners Office and Nottinghamshire and City of Nottingham Fire Authority to create a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).

The LLP shall be the contracting authority once formed for this joint venture. All buildings and assets shall be jointly owned by the LLP.
