Description

The Department is looking to appoint a provider to maximise engagement with the Coaching Pledge on a national scale through marketing, promotion, including through events and through engagement with regional partners. The Contractor will report regularly to DfE on its work and on the overall quality of Coaching Pledge provision across England.
The Contractor will be required to increase the sign-up of coaches by 500 volunteers nationally and use regional expertise to increase the number of participants by 10% per region. To support this we would expect the provider to use regional and/or strategic partnerships, existing organisation and providers
We require 40% of registered participants in each region to be matched with a coach and a minimum of 5% of participants from each region to be returners, part-time or flexible workers looking to gain a leadership position. Matching events should ensure that sustained matches are created.
The provider will be required to carry out a minimum of 20 matching events to take place nationally with a minimum of 70% of events being face to face and up to 30% of events using online/telephone matching. We would require the national provider to ensure that there is a sufficient regional spread for any matching events planned and hosted.
We would require the national provider to create a communications and engagement strategy and promote events using a range of methods, this includes:
Use of digital communications, including social media, email bulletins, twitter
Road shows
Promotion via local teach meets
Engagement with headteacher groups
Engagement with other stakeholder groups in the education sector
Press releases
Advertising in national publications
Advertising via the radio.
With this contract we would want to move away from training being the key priority and instead require the main focus of the successful bidder to be on matching events (ensuring sustained matches between coaches and participants) and increasing the number of coaches nationally. We would still require the successful tenderer to suggest new methods and improve the way matching events occur alongside training and quality assurance. Matching and increasing take-up are the key deliverables of this contract.
The National Provider will be working with the Teaching Schools Council on improvements to the existing website, which contains the database. Feedback on this has been positive from both coaches and participants, however, the Department would require the National provider to work with the TSC communications lead to develop and provide continuous improvement suggestions to the TSC website and improve the user experience for coaches and participants. The contract will incorporate service level agreements for how the engagement process should work in practice and details of clearly defined roles and responsibilities for the provider, including how these will impact on their engagement with the TSC.
