Description
Thurrock Council electoral services is looking to tender for print services for the Election team. We require a printing company experienced in undertaking election printing and canvass printing. We are not considering print management companies.
Thurrock Council is a unitary authority in the east of England, bordering with Greater London to the west and the River Thames to the south.
49 councillors are elected by thirds every year. A fallow year (no local election) would then occur. The next election is scheduled to be held in May 2021 following postponement from May 2020.
Thurrock comprises one whole constituency (Thurrock) and one part constituency (South Basildon and East Thurrock). At a parliamentary election, Thurrock "give away" South Basildon and East Thurrock to Basildon Council and do not require (election) printing for this area.
Number of wards = 20, typically 16-17 wards are elected per year for a local election (unless a combined election)
• South Basildon & East Thurrock constituency - 18000 properties, 34000 electors
• Thurrock constituency - 52000 properties, 90000 electors
• Total Properties = 70102
• Total Electors = 123329
The typical election schedule is detailed below and Thurrock participates in national elections: parliamentary elections and referendum, plus local by-elections. As a unitary authority we do not participate in county council elections.
N.B. This is a restricted procedure. The first stage will consist of completion of a pre-qualification questionnaire. Note also that the Council can only accept submissions via its online Oracle e-Tendering portal.
