Description

Executive Search services to assist with sourcing an Infrastructure Transformation Direcotor. Aspire Replacement Programme - Infrastructure Transformation Director - 1 post Location This role can be based in either Telford or London. Relocation costs will not be reimbursed.
Role Profile
To support its customer-centric business strategy and transformation HMRC has created a change portfolio consisting of over a hundred projects and programmes, organised into a number of clusters.
The purpose of the role is to lead the transformation of HMRC's large scale, complex IT infrastructure. The jobholder will need to define and lead the implementation of a cloud based strategy to deliver significant cost reduction and service performance improvement. This is alongside maintaining operational service and continuous delivery of new projects.
Working to the Chief Digital Information Officer, this is a very high profile and senior role in HMRC in an area experiencing large-scale change.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Managing the large scale IT transformation programme
• Defining and leading the implementation of a cloud based strategy delivering significant cost reduction and service performance improvement whilst maintaining operational service and the continuous delivery of new projects
• Identifying and effectively managing risks, issues and dependencies.
• Providing leadership to the Aspire Replacement IT Transformation Team, and to other parts of the portfolio within HMRC and across the department more generally, and wider representation of the portfolio outside HMRC
• Working collaboratively with business as usual CDIO leadership whilst achieving buy-in for significant change, and build a relationship with the Government Digital Service and Crown Commercial Service.
Candidate profile
The role requires exceptional leadership skills and the successful candidate should have strong interpersonal and negotiating skills, and be able to lead cross-functional teams, acting as an advocate for change. This is a dynamic and fast-moving programme and the successful candidate will need to be confident in making decisions quickly and effectively.
In addition, candidates should also provide evidence of the following: Experience of large scale IT platforms and high availability environments
Proven experience in transforming large scale complex IT infrastructure
Knowledge and practical senior level experience of leading cross-functional teams building consensus throughout the organisation to instigate real change and sustainable value
Establishing effective governance with clear roles, accountabilities and responsibilities across their portfolio.
Ability to work at pace and under pressure; manage stakeholders and influence line functions for which the post-holder will not have direct accountability
