Description

Vibrant Partnerships' core objectives are:
- To create an engaging and enjoyable children's play area at Lee Valley Park Farms to be popular with its core market of young families with children aged between 2 and 8 years old;
- To incorporate elements of both sand and water based play;
- Whilst there is no maximum size constraint, the minimum area to be used should be 15m by 15m;
- To deliver the project to budget of GBP60,000 ex VAT;
- To deliver the project by the latest of Noon, Friday 17th March 2017.
- The location for the installations is at Lee Valley Park Farms, Stubbins Hall Lane, Waltham Abbey, Essex, EN9 2EF
Key requirements to be covered include:
- Essential (the project cannot happen without):
- Aimed at the core target market (2 to 8 year olds)
- Incorporate both sand and water play elements including digging
- Incorporate 'role play' into the experience
- Easy to maintain
- Drainage / sand retention consideration
- Ground levelling and associated removal and disposal consideration
- Dinosaur and/or chicken theming - character and interpretation at the venue focusing on the links between chickens and T-Rex
- Sense of discovery and exploration - incorporate problem solving / engineering elements where possible
- Planting incorporated into design
- Incorporate opportunities for parents and children to interact
- Parental seating areas incorporated into design (can go beyond the 15m by 15m and the actual seating furniture is not required to be quoted for)
- One gated entry / exit point
- Single fencing around installation
- At least one play / climbing 'structure'
- Contractor will be required to provide project management, consultancy and installation of the play facility, as well as associated training
- Ensuring the play is accessible to as wide an ability range as practicable
- Flexibility to amend design based on Vibrant Partnerships feedback
- Items must be individually priced so that the final project can be amended to allow for more/less of any features within budget
- Full method statement and timeline to be provided
- Full training and maintenance plan provided for any items that require it i.e. any water treatment
- Should have elements (not essential but not having weakens the project)
- Use of characters / models
- Bone discovery dig(s)
- Child not able to 'see' everything instantly
- Could haves (not having these does not weaken the project)
- Make use of existing on site dinosaur / chicken character model
- Make use of existing on site dinosaur bone dig pits / boxes
