Description

The Force requires the services of a qualified Psychological Services Provider who is capable of providing a demand driven Psychological service provision in support of the in-house Occupational Health Counselling and Welfare team. The services will be provided to officers and staff employed by Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue.
All referrals to the Psychological Service provider will be directly from the Occupational Health Unit. The Force will refer those employees requiring treatment which cannot be fulfilled in-house either through, but not limited to, the complexity of the case or capacity. The method of referral will be defined by the Occupational Health Unit.
The Occupational Health Unit is a multi-discipline team dealing with all issues relating to Occupational Health with additional support from external contractors. The department is managed by an Occupational Health Manager.
The Occupational Health, Safety & Welfare Department has 22 members of staff providing occupational health, safety and welfare advice, guidance and support services to around 3,600 Police Officers and Police Staff and around 1300 Fire Fighters and Support Staff.

The provider will preferably provide offsite professionally qualified counselling services unless otherwise agreed to The Force which will:
• Provide a service to an agreed standard to meet your requirements
• Conform to the code of ethics and practice of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy or equivalent.
Employees will be offered one to one counselling that is established on three guiding principles:
