Description

Priors Hall Golf Course
Bidders Day Invitation
Thursday 4th April 2019

An opportunity has arisen for interested companies to consider tendering for Corby Priors Hall Golf Course and its associated facilities and services.

Priors Hall Golf Course covers 143 acres and consists of an 18 hole golf course, putting green, practice area, club house with a restaurant, bar, shop, car parks and green-keeping storage areas.

The golf course is currently managed in-house by Corby Borough Council and the Council is now looking for an experienced golf management company / organisation to take on all of the golf facilities and services.

In return for a contract of up to 25 years, the Council's contract will require some significant investment in the facility, equipment and most importantly the golf course.

Interested companies are invited to register to attend a "Bidders Day" on Thursday, 4th April at Priors Hall Golf Course from 10.30am. A draft agenda is included below:

10.30am - Welcome and refreshments
10.40am - Priors Hall Golf Course overview and details of the tendering process
11.00am - Question and Answer session
11.30am - Brief tour of Club House and Golf Course

PLEASE NOTE: Attendance at this event is for pre-registered companies only. Companies can pre-register by e-mailing procurement@corby.gov.uk.

Priors Hall Golf Course covers 143 acres and is leased to the Council for 99 years from Tata Steel. The lease expires on 1st January 2062.

In August 2017, the One Corby Policy Committee approved for the Golf Course management to be managed in-house from the 1st September 2017 for a minimum of one year following the contractor giving early notice on the contract.

The Council has managed the facility since then and has taken the opportunity to make improvements to the course, clubhouse and the services provided; this has started to show in an increase in satisfaction by users and over the last few months an improvement in the number of users accessing the facility. The Council has also been able to take stock of the grounds maintenance equipment, the state of the club house and most importantly gain a better understanding of the requirements of the course.

The Council has recognised that considerable investment is needed in the course to continue the improvements and make the required changes and therefore wants to ensure that the length of any contract to manage the course reflects this and allows any bidder the opportunity to recoup their investment over time. Golf usage has dropped nationally over the last ten years, other services and business opportunities need to be developed to help ensure that the course is sustainable.
